Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out a form on the Site (for example, to request a consultation, ask a question, or download a resource), we collect what you enter, which may include your name, organization, email address, phone number, and anything you write in a message field. Some forms also ask about your organization's status, budget range, project needs, and timeline so we can route your inquiry appropriately.
If you email us directly, we keep the email and our correspondence with you.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the links you click. We collect this using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see "Cookies and tracking" below).
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and requests
- Provide, operate, and improve the Site and our services
- Send you marketing and informational communications, if you've submitted a form or otherwise opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Understand how the Site is used and measure the effectiveness of our marketing
- Protect the Site and our business, and comply with legal obligations
Cookies and tracking
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies from us and from third parties, including:
- Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the Site. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Meta Pixel — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show relevant ads. Meta's privacy policy is at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can manage ad preferences in your Meta account settings.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on LinkedIn and to show relevant ads. LinkedIn's privacy policy is at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. You can opt out at https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out.
These tools may collect information about your activity across other websites and over time. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect how parts of the Site work. We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:
- Service providers. We use third-party tools to run our business, including our email marketing platform (Mailchimp) and the internal contact database we maintain for managing inquiries, where form submissions are stored, as well as web hosting, analytics, advertising, and form-processing providers. These providers may access your information only to perform services for us.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If EPIC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Your choices
- Marketing emails. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at hello@epic.inc to be removed.
- Cookies and ads. See "Cookies and tracking" above for opt-out options.
- Access, correction, and deletion. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing hello@epic.inc. We'll respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
California residents
If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) may give you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law, except to the extent that use of the advertising pixels described above may be considered "sharing"; you can opt out via the links in "Cookies and tracking." To exercise your rights, email hello@epic.inc.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to maintain our business records, and to comply with legal obligations. Form submissions and contact records are retained while we have an active relationship with you or a reasonable prospect of one, and for a period afterward for record-keeping.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Links to other sites
The Site may link to third-party websites, including client sites, media outlets, and social platforms. We're not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
